Summer Backpack Drive 2025
Share
Every year, students go to the stores purchasing notebooks, their favorite pens, markers, etc. Many children do not have that luxury and are living in poverty, starting the school year with little to no school supplies. This is a reality that over 11 million children endure, caused by economic insecurity, poverty, or homelessness. Without a backpack or the proper supplies, children may also struggle with self-esteem, academic performance, or consistent attendance. The backpack ministry is so crucial; directly supporting the academic lives of students by giving them backpacks and supplies can impact their academic success and efforts to a more hopeful future.
This year, we donated backpacks full of supplies to The Crossroads School on Tidewater Drive. This is a Title 1 school and that means that the children in attendance are more at risk and in need of special supports. The elementary aged children living in the Church's surrounding neighborhood are zoned to attend this school.
A $25 donation provides a backpack complete with supplies for one child. Please consider supporting one backpack this summer.
